The supplies that you will need are:
- a light switch cover
- 8.5"x11" shipping labels or sticker paper
- 4 Tombow brush pens in blue, purple, yellow, and orange (I used brushes from the bright palette)
- a plastic bag or blending palette
- a watercolor brush
- a Tombow Fude or black fine line pen
- a small paint brush
- mod podge
- glitter in the color of your choice
Tip: Use full size shipping labels instead of sticker paper to make affordable stickers and decals!
The first thing you need to do is trace your light switch cover on your label/sticker paper.
Cut it out, making sure to cut out the space for the light switch and the screws.
Tip: Use a push pin to help you poke out the holes for the screws.
Use your Tombows to create a watercolor effect on the sticker paper! Refer to the first picture below for how to create a watercolor effect and the second picture for how to create the color combinations in this project.
First, use orange and yellow to color on the plastic bag in short strokes.
Use your watercolor brush to drop water droplets over the colored area. Make sure to space out the droplets like shown.
Place the top half of the label on top of the orange/yellow droplets.
Repeat the process with the blue and purple brushes on the bottom half of the label.
Then use your Tombow Fude or black fine line pen to write "Lumos" and "Nox" on the top and bottom of the label.
I chose to use the holes for the screws as the Os in my words.
Use Mod Podge and glitter to decorate the label, and then peel it off of the backing and stick it onto your light switch cover!
Then you're done!
Screw the cover back onto your light switch and you have your very own Harry Potter themed light!
